In the 1980s, a young man crossed the seas to America. With his return, he brought the Charismatic Evangelist movement to Sweden.
The movement emphasized the power of the Holy Spirit, enchanting many Christians seeking something authentically mysterious.
It also brought with it a strict doctrine, defining the right way to live and what was considered sin.

Many queer people brought up in this environment share stories of psychological abuse. Sexual and gender identities vilified; considered anomalies. Some were even told they were possessed by demons that needed to be cast out for sin to be purged.

I was one of them. "Evangelicana" is my own story of oppressive religious doctrine and escaping from it - expressed with a blend of electronic music as well as field recordings.
